Capture The Flag 2024

As a cybersecurity enthusiast, I enjoy CTFs (Capture the Flag) challenges. Finding ways to solve forensic puzzles. I also love RPGs, what better way to contribute to last years CTF that I was a developer for than to combine these 2 things!

This light-hearted RPG is a short, simple story which makes light of itself and gives a ton of Cyber-Security related references, but it's also challenging. I don't mean, the gameplay, which can be tedious if you don't "cheat", but I mean in trying to unravel the secrets and discover the game flags. Flags were designed to with this format ISRMCTF{flag}

Flag 1: To your delight you find a treasure chest at the top of the castle tower, however, it gives a suspicious message... Is there more to this treasure chest than meets the eye?

Flag 2: The pyramid is place of mystery, threat hunters need to pay special attention to the words of wisdom spoken here. There must be a flag in this place....right?

Flag 3: Remember to talk to people, sometimes we need to network a bit. What better place than the local pub? Visit the pub in the basement of the Castle Inn, what is this about a treasure at sea? What other people do you encounter who might have clues about this?

Flag 4: What is the boss game Flag (beat the game)

Flag 5: what is the secret boss flag... Yep, you heard that right, there is a secret Boss hiding somewhere in the game. Find this boss, beat this boss, get a flag.... be warned, this boss is a trickster.

BONUS: Not flags for you to find, just for fun.

Flag 1: What is the name of the game referenced on the monument in town?

Flag 2: What is the Cipher used, and the cipher key to decode the cipher that afflicts the town?

Play the game for fun, or to challenge yourself to find the flags. Expected gameplay without using "cheats" is around 4 hours, that is grinding, exploring, and solving challenges. I do realize that solving some of the cyber challenges around ciphers, bitwise operations, HEX/charcode conversion could take more time for some players.
